The ingredients for the pointed cabbage minced casserole
We like to make it cozy with a delicious oven dish. And from May this pointed cabbage casserole will be part of it. Yes, the cabbage vegetables are already in season in summer, which makes me personally very happy. That’s why my favorite pointed cabbage recipes find their way to our table before winter. Like the casserole in question, which comes with these ingredients:
- Pointed cabbage: I like to buy cabbage regionally. It is in season from May and is available in our supermarket. In all other months I use my vegetables from the freezer. Pointed cabbage is easy to freeze, which I like to use in preparation.
- potatoes: For the casserole, I prefer to use mainly waxy types of potatoes. They retain their bite.
- minced meat: I like to use mixed minced meat. Of course, pure ground beef or pork also works.
- Onion and Garlic: The duo provides more flavor and spice.
- olive oil: I fry minced meat, onions and garlic in it. You can also use sunflower or rapeseed oil.
- Cream for cooking and vegetable broth: This is used to pour the pointed cabbage mince mixture on to create a sauce.
- Tomato paste: The sauce should have a light tomato flavor. Tomato paste is very suitable for this.
- soy sauce, Salt and pepper: This will flavor the whole thing. Soy sauce has a lot of spice and is quite salty, so use salt and pepper sparingly.
- Grated cheese: Whether grated Gouda or Emmental cheese – you can choose according to your taste.
