Today I would like to introduce you to a new cookbook: “There you have the salad” by Emily Ezekiel. As a mom and food blogger, I’m always looking for fresh ideas for healthy and delicious meals. And this cookbook not only has many of them, but also inspires me with its creative ideas for salad recipes and their easy implementation.

What awaits you?
Emily Ezekiel has put together over 75 creative salad recipes. What’s special: The recipes are sorted according to the seasons. This means you can always find the right recipe with seasonal fruit and vegetables. Great idea, right?
The book starts with useful tips:
- What supplies you need
- Which kitchen aids are practical
- How to best store fruits and vegetables
Then we start with the recipes for spring, summer, autumn and winter. The individual chapters are divided into ‘Salads to share’ and ‘Salads in a jar’. I think this is particularly good because I’m always looking for salad recipes to take with me.
At the end there are great basic recipes for:
- dressings
- Flavored oils
- Pickled vegetables
- Crispy toppings
There is also beautifully graphically presented information about seasonal salads, vegetables and fruit. This means you can see at a glance what is currently available to buy in our supermarkets.
What does it look like inside?
The layout is very clear:
- Each recipe has a double page
- Tasteful photos make you want to try things out
- You can see at a glance how long it takes you
- The partly illustrated instructions are clear and easy to understand
And what I think is really good: There are not only lots of tips on how you can make the salad vegan, but also on how to use up leftovers. This saves money and is good for the environment!

Lots of salad recipes to suit every taste
No matter whether you like meat, love fish or are a vegetarian/vegan – everyone will find the right salad recipe here! And not just the ones with the green stuff. You will find recipes with meat and fish, pasta and potatoes, rice and bread. And guess what? There are even sweet salads! Really diverse and I have to say it again here: All recipes are accompanied by very tasteful and meaningful photos.
Are the salad recipes simple or complicated?
Most of the recipes are really easy to implement. That’s another positive point. You don’t have to be a professional chef and the ingredients can also be found in almost every supermarket. A few tips from me about this book:
- Read the recipe completely first.
- Prepare all ingredients before start.
- Don’t be afraid to adapt if you don’t have an ingredient on hand or don’t like it.
Although some recipes have more exotic ingredients that you may not find in every supermarket, that’s not a problem. Emily Ezekiel offers many alternatives that you can use.

What I particularly like
It’s not just the salad recipes, but also other reasons why I like the book:
- Seasonal variety: No matter whether spring, summer, autumn or winter – you will always find suitable recipes.
- Healthy ideas: Many recipes are full of nutrients. Great for anyone who pays attention to their diet.
- More than just side dishes: These salads are not just side dishes, but real meals.
- Practical bowls and glasses: Ideal for taking to the office or for a picnic.
- Creative combinations: Emily Ezekiel often mixes familiar ingredients in surprising ways. This brings variety to your kitchen!
- Basic recipes: You can also conjure up your own creations with the dressings and toppings.
I will try these salad recipes soon
I’ve already picked out a few recipes that I really want to try. Here are my top 3:
- Summer salad with peach and burrata

Little tip from me
Try out the recipes and adapt them to your taste. Are they too spicy for you? Then use less chili. Do you like it creamier? Add some avocado. Make the salads your own creations! And if you’re still looking for tips for a salad for breakfast, then take a look at this post.
